How to Thank Your Employees for A Successful 2014
Finding the right way to say thank you can be challenging especially to a group of people who work endless hours pouring all their energy and creativity into upholding their duties and exceeding expectations. These individuals are your employees. At the end of a successful and often challenging year, it’s the perfect time to show gratitude and appreciation to those you trust to grow your business.
Your employees want to feel respected and valued so they can continue to put their best foot forward. Saying thank you is one of the best ways to accomplish that. So where do you start? How do you choose the most appropriate words? How do you let them know how much you value them? Here are some tips you can use to create an authentic letter of gratitude to your prized employees:
1) Get straight to the point – say thank you and be encouraging and sincere
2) Address specific positive accomplishments – meet year-end goals, increase annual sales, acquire more clients, etc.
3) Explain why those accomplishments are successful.
4) Personalize the letter – the employer, manager or boss should personally deliver the message verbally, written or typed.
5) Tell your employees what they bring to the table and how they make the company’s success possible because of their achievements.
Unfortunately, some years aren’t as successful as others. It’s expected. However, it doesn’t mean your employees didn’t work hard, or try their absolute best to meet goals. In this case, it is even more important to thank your employees for doing everything in their power to maintain a positive attitude in less than ideal circumstances, for pushing through to the end of the year in hopes of turning things around and for gearing up to making 2015 better.
Remember that “thank you’s” can and should come from the employer more than once per year. Even a quick walk past an employee’s office to say thank you for their hard work will come as a pleasant surprise. Praising your employees goes a long way. It creates camaraderie, revitalization, positive energy and so much more.
